This enamel pin design is dedicated to the city of Altadena and Pasadena, a community we've been a part of the last 15 years. There are many symbols that are dedicated to our city... The roses covered in ash symbolizes that hardship and destruction our city has faced because of the Eaton Canyon Fires which has devastated close to 9,500 structures in our area. However, the red roses you see that are being uncovered have always been a symbol of Altadena and Pasadena... these roses give meaning to a deep love, commitment, respect and admiration for our community. Finally, the phoenix rising from the ashes and a bed of roses is a symbol of resurrection, new beginnings, and hope... because that's what Altadena and Pasadena has always stand for in it's rich history. We love our community very much. It's given my family (Miguel) so much since we were welcomed here. It's given us memories we cherish for the rest of our lives. Designing and creating this piece is an honor and great privilege and we can't thank you enough for participating in this fundraiser to help us give back.

100% of the profits will be distributed to specific families (Ulmer Family, Evans Family, Manchester Family, and Boyle Family), Odyssey Charter School, and Fox's Restaurant decimated by the Eaton Fires. It is so difficult to navigate which families, schools and small businesses will be getting these donations but I (Miguel) can personally vouch for each one of families, school and small business I named. 3 of the 4 families are friends of my 1st grader, the other family is a personal friend of mine... the restaurant is a family owned business my family usually dines in for breakfast... and the school is where my kids attend.
